EW English Words ("we", "our", or "the App") is an English language learning application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Data: email address, username, and encrypted password when you create an account. If you sign in via Facebook or Google, we receive your name and email from those services.
• Usage Data: learning progress, quiz scores, bookmarks, EduCoins earned, study streaks, and study statistics — stored locally on your device and associated with your account.
• Device Data: device type, OS version, and app version for troubleshooting purposes only.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the educational service.
• To track your learning progress and personalize content to your level.
• To process subscriptions and payments (through Google Play Billing).
• To send service-related notifications (e.g., trial expiration, level completion).
• To improve the App experience based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.

3. Data Storage & Security

• Your learning data is stored locally on your device.
• Account credentials are stored securely using industry-standard encryption (SHA-256 hashing for passwords, EncryptedSharedPreferences for tokens).
• We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google Play Billing: for processing subscription payments. Payments are handled entirely by Google; we do not store payment card information.
• Google Translate API: word text is sent to Google for translation. No personal data is included.
• Facebook SDK: if you choose to sign in with Facebook, we receive your public profile name and email. We do not post to your Facebook account.
• Google Sign-In: if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name and email.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Advertising

The App does not display advertisements and does not use advertising tracking identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID).

6. Data Retention

• Your data is retained as long as your account is active.
• If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
• Guest/trial data stored locally on the device can be cleared by uninstalling the App.

7. Children's Privacy

• The App is designed as an educational tool and is not directed at children under 13.
• We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
• If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.
• If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email below.

8. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: View your personal data in the App's settings/profile screen.
• Correction: Update your profile information at any time through the App.
• Deletion: Request account and data deletion through the App settings or by contacting us.
• Portability: Request a copy of your data by contacting us.
• Objection: You may stop using the App at any time.

9. Cookies & Tracking

• The App does not use cookies.
• The App does not use analytics or tracking SDKs beyond the minimal Facebook SDK events required for login functionality.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through an in-app notification or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
